Here at The Park House Sober Living our mission is to provide more than an alcohol and drug-free environment. We provide a safe haven where our residents can continue to engage the process of recovery, with the structure, support and accountability needed to firmly establish their lives in sobriety, and live a honest and fulfilled life free from addiction.
Our Mission, Our Purpose & The Keys To Success
Our Purpose
Transitional
Our Purpose is to provide the very best level of care and help those who have been suffering to find a “Power” that will solve their problem. Living life free from all substances is a learned process which involves a transformation of thought and attitude.
During the time when people are transitioning from addiction treatment to a new life in recovery, they are often unprepared for the stresses and challenges waiting for them in the outside world. The right sober living home or transitional recovery residence can help minimize the stress of leaving treatment and offer individuals in recovery a better chance at long-term sobriety.
The Keysto Successful Sober Living
Achieving and maintaining recovery from alcohol or drug addiction may start as a difficult challenge, but with the guidance and support from peers and a good management staff, those in early sobriety can go past this stage successfully, all the way to a full and complete recovery.
Structure
Success in sober living homes is largely dependent on clear and definable guidelines, policies and rules. Whereas the residents of the community understand and agree to meet these personal standards and expectations as a condition for continued program participation.
Safety
Every recovery housing organization or sober living home should provide a safe and secure environment. Housing capacity should not exceed local jurisdiction law. Having a ”Good Neighbor” Policy is paramount as to the relations with the surrounding community. Fire alarms and electrical outlets should be up to standard and in compliance with local building codes. Physical threats or violence from other residents should be non-existent.
Drug & Alcohol Testing
Sober houses need to identify active drug and/or alcohol use as to maintain the integrity and sanctity of the house, and should actively use random drug testing and breathalyzers to protect its clean & sober drug-free environment. Drug and alcohol testing save lives.
Recovery Support Staff
The very best SLH’s are managed, staffed and operated by people who have the experience in doing so, engaging recovery support for their residents with care and consideration. Giving encouragement and fostering the recovery process with every resident is an attribute which provides the best outcomes. Having a management which has a full-time manager(s) to handle day-to-day business, and to keep the community safe, secure and accountable is also a much-needed feature of a good organization. An active and helpful staff that can implement the structure and promote accountability is the most desirable.
Personal Accountability
The best sober houses look to support you in your recovery by requiring certain behaviors and life skills. Learning to live life in recovery is a process which is best when giving direction and goals. Becoming accountable to oneself and others is a discipline which is learned mainly from the behavior of our peers.
